The Toronto Maple Leafs held a 2-0 lead heading into the third period on Wednesday night, but the Florida Panthers were able to force overtime with goals from Jonathan Marchessault and Vincent Troceck.

Mitch Marner did everything he could to win the game for the Maple Leafs in regulation with nine shots on goal, but Panthers goaltender Roberto Lunogo had the rookie’s number all night long.

It did not matter how Marner approached the net, Lunogo had an answer all night long.  He used the poke check to deny Marner on a breakaway in the first period.

In the second period he showed off the leather with this fantastic glove save.

Marner would get the last laugh as he was the only player to score in the shootout as he went five-hole on the veteran net minder.  The goal not only gave the Leafs the extra point, but also their first shootout win as they are now 1-5 in the skills competition this season.
