While the Toronto Maple Leafs sit in first place of the Scotia North Division, it hasn't always been easy getting there.
The team has dealt with some tough injuries upfront and between the pipes but the defensemen have stayed healthy for the most part.
Unfortunately for Rasmus Sandin, a healthy blueline meant no playing time and we finally broke into the lineup he was sent to the AHL just a couple of days later.
Sandin had complained about not getting into the lineup and said he was extremely frustrated with his situation.
Unfortunately he just got hit with some tough news.
Sandin suffered a foot injury during Marlies season opener and it's been revealed that he'll be out indefinitely .
Marlies D Rasmus Sandin sustained a foot injury as a result of a blocked shot on Feb 15. He’ll return to Toronto for further evaluation by the Leafs medical team & will be out indefinitely. A more accurate timeline for his return will be provided once fully evaluated in Toronto.
