There's been lots of chatter over the last week and the Toronto Maple Leafs made it official on Friday.

The Leafs and general manager Kyle Dubas announced that they've signed forward Kasperi Kapanen and Andreas Johnsson to contract extensions.

Kapanen signs a three-year extension with an AAV of $3.2million while Johnsson has signed a four-year extension with an AAV of $3.4 million.

This leaves the Leafs in an interesting position according to Cap Friendly:

"With Kapanen and Johnsson extended at $3.2 and $3.4M respectively, we now show the MapleLeafswith $6.9M in projected cap space with a roster size of 18 (11F 5D 2G)

Note: Horton is eligible to be placed on LTIR to exceed the upper limit by up to $5.3M"
