The Toronto Maple Leafs announced some terrible news on Monday.

Just a couple of hours after calling up defenseman Rasmus Sandin, the team announced their top defenseman will be gone for about two months.

From Maple Leafs public relations:

"The Maple Leafs announced today that defenceman Morgan Rielly underwent a CT scan this afternoon after sustaining an injury in last night’s game against Florida and will be out a minimum of eight weeks with a fractured foot.

Rielly will be placed on injured reserve and will be reassessed after eight weeks by the Maple Leafs medical staff."

Rielly hasn't been himself all season, however this seems to have nothing to do with the previous injury he had hinted at.

The Leafs' blueline will really have to pull together with Rielly out of the lineup.
