With Mitch Marner now officially signed some of the stories about the negotiations are coming out.
Of course the big news this morning was Marner's agent Darren Ferris revealed that Marner was officially presented offer sheets from two different teams.
Matthew Barnaby reported that those two teams were the Minnesota Wild and Columbus Blue Jackets.
After practice on Monday morning, Marner confirmed that he did receive lots of interest from other teams.
"As soon as Darren mentioned [offer sheets], I told him right away I don’t want to explore that option. But I didn’t want to miss training camp...or any games this season, so that’s why I really forced the issue with Kyle to get something done and get me here"
While it was a good feeling to know other teams wanted him, it wasn't an option according to Marner.
"In our four years being here, I knew how much [value] [theLeafs] have in me and how much faith they have in me and that’s another reason why I wanted to come back to show them they made the right decision."
Mitch Marner confirmed what Darren Ferris told @FirstUp1050 today about receiving offer sheets, but Marner told him immediately he wasn’t interested. Wouldn’t reveal if offers were worth more than #Leafs eventual deal, just wanted to get something done with TOR.
