The Toronto Maple Leafs are currently battling for first place in the Atlantic Division and first overall in the league as they sit tied with the Buffalo Sabres for first in both with 36 points.
A trio of players have really stepped up this year helping the Leafs dominate across the league.
Frederik Andersen, Morgan Rielly and Mitch Marner have been simply amazing to start the year.
Marner has really been turning heads and sits second in the league with 30 assists just two behind league leader Mikko Rantanen of the Colorado Avalanche who has 32 on the year.
In the process, Marner has tied Doug Gilmour for a franchise record.
Marner and Gilmour are the only players in Leafs' history to have registered 30 assists in the team's first 26 games with Gilmour having done it during the 1992-93 season.
