The Toronto Maple Leafs play the first of back to back games tonight and with Frederik Andersen showing up at practice there was some hope he would return.
Yesterday general manager Kyle Dubas said it was unlikely Frederik Andersen would play Friday but there was hope he could play Saturday against Montreal in a game which could surprisingly have big playoff implications.
Today head coach Sheldon Keefe gave a discouraging update regarding the goalie's status.
Keefe confirmed that Andersen won't play tonight and he unfortunately also told reporters that Andersen won't play Saturday either.
The head coach added that it's possible newly acquired Jack Campbell plays both games of the back to back.
Keefe said it’s tough to offer timeline on Andersen because of nature of the injury. But he’s getting through drills and Steve Briere is pushing him and he’s responding well and that’s all positive.
