The Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators swapped a bunch of players this summer through trade and free agency and even coaches.

One of those was defenseman Nikita Zaitsev who had requested a trade out of Toronto.

Zaitsev has ducked the media since then and didn't appear in any of the preseason games against Toronto.

However on Wednesday he met with reporters a couple of hours before game time.

Zaitsev tried to keep it quiet and didn't give up much.

"It's just a personal thing so I don't want to talk about that. It's personal. It's not about the team, it's not about the players. I liked it here, I enjoyed everything. It's just a new chapter in my life."

There's lots of speculation that Zaitsev couldn't handle the pressure and media anymore in Toronto.

We'll see if he gets booed by the crowd.
